I'm Paula, an Irish born and Cheltenham-based creative virtual assistant for the bold, the messy, and the visionaries who have way too many tabs open in their brain. I support small business owners and entrepreneurs with admin, ops, and content—bringing order to your operational chaos with a human, slightly chaotic approach that keeps things calm, not corporate.

My story

After university I went into the world of FMCG and was given the amazing opportunity to complete a business development programme. This meant I spent a few years on secondment in different teams, from logistics and customer service, to data insights, and brand marketing. I then spent another six years working in brand marketing teams in different sectors like grocery & beauty.

In 2022 I started to realise I was neurodivergent and took a career break, during that time I started my other small business Calamity Crochet where I teach, make and sell crochet. Around this time I also got married and started a family and when it came to returning to work I was just so utterly uninspired.

The thing is - I loved my job most when It was chaining all the time, and at the core of all the parts of my career I had loved, had been solving problems and helping bring creative visions to life.

So I realise, why not take everything I loved doing across the many hats I've worn over the years and put them in one place so that I can support creatives who are bringing their brands to life, work flexibly and not lose my sparkle again in the corporate world.

Thus Handled by Calamity was born - because I love nothing more than diving into the chaos of the creative world and helping visions come to life.
